On April 19, I managed to photograph this snowy (white stripe on the head) little roe deer. József Horváth (Joci), who works at the Kunszentmiklós Nature Conservation Petőfi Hunting Association called me early that afternoon. to a professional gamekeeper on the phone that he noticed an interesting roe deer while walking through the area.
He said that there was a white stripe on the fawn’s head, and also exactly where he had seen the fawn. After work, I changed into my camouflage outfit used for the photo shoot and drove to the location. When I got to the area, a tractor was working in the adjacent field. As a result, the deer were not out. That’s what this photography is like… I went to another area where buzzards often gather. A rooster also crowed nicely. I quickly assembled my equipment and found a good blanket for myself. As I was about to start taking photos, a car appeared in the area. The grouse flew away. After about an hour, I headed back to the place where Joci saw the snowy pike. The tractor was no longer there. It was a nine-man rook, but it was out in the middle of the board. I stopped the car in cover, got out and watched with binoculars, whether or not the person you are looking for is among them. I use a 10×42 scope. They were so far from me that I could barely see the snow on the head of the roe deer. Anyway, I saw it. The deer were very far away, in completely open terrain and the wind was not in my favor either. That’s why I drove to the other side of the sign. Unfortunately, the deer jumped. I stopped. They also stopped, but again at a long distance from me.
Rmoreover, in a freshly worked area, which is not exactly a good background for a photo. Then two SUVs appeared on the opposite side. They were Joci’s, they went out hunting with a guest. Thank God the deer were spooked by the cars, so they ran back to where I first saw them. That’s when the cutting could begin. They were roughly 500 meters away from me. In the middle of the grain field was the remains of an old homestead. A wooded, wooded part of the old homestead remained, which suited me very well. So I was able to cover half the distance. When I reached the clear field, I was relieved because they were grazing nicely. There were still about 250 meters between us. I cautiously began to steal the distance. In such cases, it is very important to move crouched in the open field. Deer have good ears and a sense of smell, but their vision is at least as bad.
Prey animals usually graze with the wind blowing from behind them. This way, they can immediately notice from the smell if there is a danger lurking behind them. I managed to get about 100 meters to them. For me, this is already a distance where I can take an appreciable photo with the 600 lens. I started taking photos of them, but I aroused their interest. All of a sudden they caught themselves and started towards me. They came within 50 meters of me. We can also say that they wanted a close-up picture of themselves. They were only 40 meters away when they realized that there was something wrong with the matter. Then they started to move to the side, but they didn’t take their eyes off me. I got up from my numb, kneeling position only when they were far enough away from me. I left the board very happy because I knew that I managed to photograph something interesting today. I am very grateful to my friend Joci Horváth, a professional gamekeeper, for drawing my attention to this wonderful little dog. Of course, I will send him the pictures and, more importantly for him, the pictures I took of the bucks I saw in the area. I try to photograph them from all directions to make it easier for him to judge. I am attaching a picture of our buck photos taken on the territory of the hunting association. My wife photographed this odd number eight buck last year. If you would like to take part in a really good roe deer hunt, visit the Kunszentmiklós Nature Reserve Petőfi Vt. In addition to a good mood, you can also get a good buck. Joci knows his area and the bucks living in it very well. for drawing my attention to this wonderful little roe deer.
